Active dialog line

Hey, Lawrence.

Pending dialog line

So you've already started.

Pending dialog line

Sorry, I'm a bit late.

Pending dialog line

That's all good.

Pending dialog line

I only just got here myself.

Pending dialog line

So we've been assigned the topic of Australia's education system.

Pending dialog line

Yes.

Pending dialog line

So I was thinking the first thing we should start with is the fact that education is compulsory between certain ages.

Pending dialog line

That depends on the state or territory you're in and your date of birth.

Pending dialog line

So let's maybe split it up into different sections.

Pending dialog line

So we have primary, secondary, and tertiary.

Pending dialog line

Tertiary is the one that includes universities and vocational institutions.

Pending dialog line

Primary and secondary are private and public schools.

Pending dialog line

What about school fees?

Pending dialog line

Again, I think public and private are quite different.

Pending dialog line

With a public school, if you're an Australian citizen or a permanent resident, you have the right to attend.

Pending dialog line

But there are other costs for things like books and devices and extracurricular activities.

Pending dialog line

Yeah, and for school uniforms as well.

Pending dialog line

Actually, have you had a think about how people in really, really remote locations get access to education?

Pending dialog line

Yeah, I'm glad you asked me about that, actually.

Pending dialog line

I've been reading up on it.

Pending dialog line

There's something called School of the Air.

Pending dialog line

Is that like a classroom in a plane or something?

Pending dialog line

No, Lawrence.

Pending dialog line

They use interactive technology to communicate between their teachers and classmates.

Pending dialog line

All right.

Pending dialog line

That's pretty interesting.

Pending dialog line

We probably need to include all the different subjects students can study at different levels as well.

Pending dialog line

Yes.

Pending dialog line

Wow.

Pending dialog line

That is a lot of information to fit in this presentation, isn't it?

Pending dialog line

What if we try and break it down into different PowerPoint slides?

Pending dialog line

We'll throw in a few diagrams and infographics to explain things a bit more visually.

Pending dialog line

Let's try and break down all the information into maybe four or five bullet points per slide.

Pending dialog line

Yeah, good idea.

Pending dialog line

Should we split it and do half each?

Pending dialog line

Yeah, that sounds good.

Pending dialog line

Let's also catch up again in maybe two weeks just to consolidate everything we've done.

Pending dialog line

Yeah, good idea.

Pending dialog line

And when we meet up, we can go through it all together and make sure it all flows.

Pending dialog line

But for now, let's get started on our introduction.

Pending dialog line

Yes, let's do it.
